For the Love of Drag is a final documentary piece for BCIT worked on by myself, Ryan Bowles, Tammy Mak, and Zach Orobko. Michael Van Nen (aka Whore-ia Estefan) reconnects with his Samoan heritage through drag. Van Nen displays a re-developed relationship with his mom, Malo, on the first anniversary of ‘Drama Club,’ the show produced by Whore-ia Estefan and Wan-Ting Moi.

This story is about the remediation agreement between the Carcross/Tagish First Nation and the federal government, over contaminated sites in Yukon that fall on their traditional territory. I did this as part of my 2025 Summer Scholarship placement with CBC Yukon. I shot and edited the whole piece by myself with a mobile journalism kit — with radio turnaround being the next day.

This story is about a wildfire training program for women and LGBTQ2s+ people. It gives them the chance to try out wildfire fighting and see if it’s for them. This piece is about a local traditional hand poke tattoo artist at the Shakaat Artist Residency — hosted by the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre in Whitehorse, YT. Everyday Diversity is a TV story I produced for BCIT News. Viewers learn about what it takes to put diversity into the local music scene, and the great things that come out of it as a result.
